Marching Band Schedule State and Chapter Championships!!!

This season has been pretty exciting with the show getting better each and every week!!  We have a grand total of 4 rehearsals left for the season to perfect everything we have.  This weekend begins the championship portion of our season. 

This weekend we will be travelling to Toms River to compete in the TOB NJ state Championship and to Washington Township High School to compete in the South Jersey Chapter I Championship.

I have tickets available for Sunday and we do have a number that we do have to sell in advance.  Please purchase tickets for Sunday's championship from us.  They do return a portion of the profits to our school based on the number of tickets we sell in advance.  The link is below for you.

Marching Band Schedule week of 9/25

Here is the schedule for this week.  Please consider volunteering for our home show this Saturday.  It's a huge undertaking for the band as we will be hosting 15 area high school bands.

Tuesday- rehearsal 5:30-9

Thrusday- Pop-Up park Performance.  We will meet at the high school at 5:30 as normal and proceed together to McCowen library for the performance.  After our performance we will be going back to Davis field for rehearsal if time allows.

Saturday- Home Show day.  Students report to high school at 10:30 AM.  Bring a lunch and money to buy dinner.  Students will be dismissed after we have finished cleaning up from the show.

Parents who are volunteering get into the show for free.  All parents will have the opportunity to view the performance of our band at the end of the night.  This night will also serve as our senior night to recognize our seniors.

Please come to Williamstown and support the kids. It's much easier for them to perform for a friendly and full audience.

Tickets are only 5.00 if you buy from us ahead of time.

Send the kids with money to buy food at Williamstown.

This weekends schedule 9/9/17

This weekend we do not have a show scheduled but we will be having practice from 12-5 at the high school.

Next week is our first show and we should have tickets to sell at a discounted rate.  I will post a google form as soon as I am able and you will be able to order tickets for all of the regular shows this season.  Please remember any tickets you purchase from us directly benefits your child and the program.

Tuesday we have a PPBA meeting at 7:30 in the choir room.  Please consider attending as we will be discussing the TOB home show on October 30th.  It's one of our biggest fundraisers of the school year :-)  Check your email for updated from the PPBA regarding this important event.

Toronto Trip Info

Information regarding the Music Department trip to Toronto has been posted under the files section of the website.  I will also be sending home a hard copy with your child tomorrow.

There are two documents posted one is the Trip Letter which details the trip and the costs.  The other is a document regarding the necessary documents for crossing the border into Canada.

The monthly PPBA meeting will be held tomorrow night, 7/11/17 at 7:30 pm in the band room at PHS.  Hope you can join us -- we will be discussing band camp, plans for hosting our annual home show, and more!

We're kicking off the cinnamon roll/carrot cake fundraiser tomorrow. Here is the form if you need it. Your child will make 2.00 for each roll sold. Orders due July 25th.

Please try and sell multiples of 12 (We have to order complete cases.)
Make checks payable to the PPBA...if you are sending personal checks from others put your name on each check so we know whose order it is.
For every cinnamon roll you sell your child receives 2.00 in profit for their student account to be used for any band costs.

Announcements 5/15

High School Spring Concert Tuesday, May 16th at 7 pm in the auditorium (Dress is concert Black- No Jeans or sneakers)
Marching Band Kick-Off Party is coming up.  May 23rd 6-8 in the high school band room.
Trip to Elementary Schools- Thursday, May 25th. (Dress is White Pitman Bands T-Shirt)
Memorial Day Ceremony- Monday, May 29th. (Dress is White Pitman Bands T-Shirt)

Awards Banquet is Tuesday, May 30th and all family members are invited.  Everyone should have gotten an email regarding food sign-ups.

PPBA Officer Nominations for 17-18

We need people to get involved with the PPBA so we can continue to be successful as an organization.  Without their financial support we wouldn't be able to offer a lot of the great things that we currently are.  In the past they have paid to bring in guest clinicians to work with all of our concert band students.

The annual PPBA band banquet is Tuesday, May 30th from 6-9 pm at the Pitman VFW hall on Oakcrest Avenue.

Upcoming Performances

As we finish the year the concert band has three more performances on our schedule.  I just wanted to make sure everyone had the dates.

May 16th Spring Concert- 7:00 PM in the High School Auditorium
May 25th Elementary School tour during school
May 29th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony in the Grove

For the last two performances we will be wearing the Pitman Bands T-Shirts.  Shirts are 10.00 if you need to order them email Director@pitmanband.org

There are also plenty floating around that students can borrow them if they need to.

We can't wait to share the music with all of you!!

We are pleased to announce the Pitman High School 8th Annual Jazz Festival!

The Pitman High School and Middle School Jazz bands along with 11 additional High School bands will be performing March 31, 2017 between 5 and 10 pm.  Doors open at 4:30 and tickets are $5 for students/senior citizens and $10 for adults.  This is a great opportunity to have a fun night out while supporting our fine young musicians.

Disney info

Disney Magic band info:  once your child has checked into the hotel, you can call Disney at 1-407-934-7639 and put money on the band so they don't have to carry cash around. They can use the band to purchase anything at the resort/park. If there is money leftover on the band after they check out of the hotel on Thursday, call and you can get them to refund the money.  You can also call as often as you want to add money instead of putting one lump some on the first day. Mr Carey will be giving the kids their bands when they come to the high school tomorrow am.
