Scott Lang Student Leadership workshop

We will be hosting a Student Leadership workshop here at the high school on May 6th.  All students that will be in high school next year are invited to attend.  This is for all students and we are paying for 40 to attend so if you are ever going to be interested in a student leadership position you should attend this event.  We don't anticipate offering this every year as it's quite expensive.  The event will begin at approximately 5:00 and last for 2.5 hours.  Students are asked to arrive on time and remain for the entire workshop if they are going to participate.

May 3rd volunteers

We need 20 volunteers for an event in Philadelphia on May 3rd.  Kids, parents and siblings are all welcome to sign up.  We will be taking a bus after the parade in the morning to help pack food boxes for the broad street run.

We should return to PHS by 3:30.  If you can help email secretary@pitmanband.org to sign up.

Toronto Info.

Please make sure we have all the necessary forms for your child if they are attending the Toronto trip this week.  All students need to turn in a signed and notarized Canadian release form.  If your child was in marching band I already have the medical forms and permission slip on file.  I will make a list of all students that need to turn things in tomorrow when I'm in the office.  If you have any questions please let me know.

Don't forget luggage check is from 6-8 on Wednesday evening.  Carryon luggage can come with your child when they arrive at 11:30 Wednesday night.  All medication needs to be in the original bottles with your child's name on it and given to Michell Kennedy before we leave that night.

They will need spending money to cover the meals that say student expense on the itinerary and any souviners they may want you purchase.  I would reccomend somewhere around 100.00 to cover that.

Please make sure your children speak wth their teachers before we leave to see what work needs to be made up prior to us leaving.  It'll make everything easier for them when we return.

Looking forward to the trip!!!!

General Meeting Thursday

We will be holding a general meeting of the PPBA on Thursday, April 10th at 7:30 in the high school choir room.  All are welcome.  We will be discussing upcoming fundraisers and possibly taking nominations for next years officers.

Toronto Documents (Birth Certificates/Passports)

It has been brought to my attention that there are some concerns with the students carrying their own legal documents while in Canada.  I have spoken with the tour company to get some advice and it is both their opinion and mine that each person is to be responsible for their own document throughout the length of the trip.  It is not wise for any one person to take responsibility for all of those documents and should an entire folder full of birth certificates be lost that would create a huge problem.  So here is our plan:  Each child will be responsible for carrying their own document during the trip.  We will be making photocopies of each document the students will be taking with them as backup in case there is any issue with a document being lost.

This is the best course of action and the exact same one we followed the previous four times I have been on this trip both as a student and a teacher.  Should one document become lost (NOTE: this has never happened) it is not a large issue if we have a photocopy back up.  However, if something were to happen and we lost all of them that would be an issue we wouldn't even be able to solve.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Toronto Documents

Some people have experienced difficulty locating the Toronto waiver form.  I have put up a new link to a drop box with the form in it.  In order to access the google docs version from the files menu you need to have a google account.  You can either create one to view documents through their or you can use the drop box link.

If you are still having issues please feel free to post a comment to this post and we can try and make it easier for you.

Thanks!!!!Click here for the drop box link.
